Description:
This is a second level course for experienced ACEIT user to learn advanced session architecture and modeling techniques. This course builds on topics learned in our Model Builders course. Students will learn to enhance their ACEIT skills by building a more complicated case study.
This course includes recent Inflation/Escalation changes to the software.
- Review basic structure and ACE interface
- Learn ACE’s new cost types
- Review basic ACE function syntax
- Use ACE functions to develop a dynamic model
- Work with date functions
- Learn Milestone Phasing
- Learn Weibull Phasing
- Implement data tables
- Use matrix functions
- Automate lead/lag features
- Incorporate monthly inputs and view monthly results
- Add Sunk Costs to the estimate
- Learn about User Defined Functions (UDFs)
- Understand uncertainty simulation
- Review probability distributions
- Understand the connection between a histogram, probability and simulation
- Learn ACE’s uncertainty distributions
- Define distributions
- Build a custom CDF
- Measure and define additional correlation for a session
- Generate RI$K allocated results
- Work with the ACE Plug-ins to ingest data into a session
- Tell the story of the estimate
- Learn the details of POST
- Create What-if Cases in POST
- Create POST Reports and Charts
- Export and Update POST Reports and Charts to PowerPoint
Successful students should already have a working knowledge of the cost estimating process and spreadsheet operations. This class is designed as a follow-up to the ACE for Model Builders course; students should be familiar with the ACEIT suite. This course focuses on how to use ACEIT’s advanced features and does not teach underlying cost estimating principles.
